Our Mission

It is the mission of Vincent's Community Outreach to serve and assist low-income and homeless individuals in metropolitan St. Louis by providing, in part, for the basic human needs of such individuals.  In collaboration with others, we respond to unmet needs and advocate for people who are poor and homeless.

What we do

After School Program
After School Kids3.jpg

We provide an After School Program to neighborhood children from Kindergarten to 5th grade

The After School Program at has really helped me with my homework and I've made lots of new friends!

Dontae, age 10

Outreach Services

We provide utility, rental, and prescription assistance to families and seniors living in the

63104 zip code

When I lost my job,

the VCO was there for us! They helped me pay my utilities so my daughter and I wouldn't get evicted.

Destinee, Outreach Recipient

We Provide groceries for 1,500 needy families and seniors in the 63104 zip code each year on Tuesdays and Thursdays

The food I have gotten here has been such a Godsend for my family during these difficult times!

Lunch Window

We serve lunch to

150-300 guests Monday through Saturday from 11am-1pm

Before I found out about the lunch program, I didn't always know where my next meal would come from. Now I know there is a safe, friendly place where I can get a nice lunch.

Leonard, Outreach Recipient

Dinner "Meals"

We serve 250-325 meals to the homeless and needy

from the 22nd to the 1st from 5pm-6pm each month

The issue we have now is very serious. Since the pandemic hit, the demand for meals greatly increased. We serve 250 people each night. Our guests are so appreciative; It's really hard for them to get a home-cooked meal out on the streets

Jude, Meals Volunteer

Senior Bingo.jpg

We host local, low-income seniors to play rounds of bingo, win prizes, and eat lunch every Thursday from 11am-1pm

Playing bingo here is the highlight of my week! Me and my friends always look forward to getting a chance to play bingo, eat a delicious meal, win prizes, and have fun every Thursday.

Suds of

We provide laundry soap, dryer sheets, and washing machine coins, once a month for clients who are homeless or experiencing poverty.

"It's very much a community.  I often say we're lucky because other people talk about helping the poor, but we get to be hands-on, being involved in actually knowing people, recognizing them, and helping them do their laundry."

Mary, co-coordinator Suds of Love

Clothing Window

We provide homeless clients a clean change of clothes, a blanket, coat, hat & gloves, and toiletries every Tuesday from 12:15-1:15pm

It isn't easy being homeless; but knowing the VCO has my back helps give me the strength to keep going.

Christmas Program
Christmas Program Family.jpg

We register qualified Seniors and Families for our program, who are then "adopted" by people to provide gifts and boxes full of groceries. This year we were able to assist over 2000 individuals.

My family and I are so grateful to receive a gift and food for Christmas. My husband and I almost cried because of your generosity.

Thank you so much!

Working in Development for Vincent's Community Outreach is such an honor as we are not a charity that asks for much - we are talking about the bare essentials...the most fundamental needs that we have as human being are the exact things that we provide - clothing, drink, food, and most of all human dignity.

Fund a Need Logo.png

St. Vincent DePaul is hosting our annual Fund-A-Need fundraiser.  What was originally called “The Poor Fund” has now turned into a non-profit organization called “Vincent’s Community Outreach.”  We wanted a separate organization whose primary purpose was to give back to those in our community who were experiencing hardship.  Every penny raised for our annual Fund-A-Need campaign goes directly to our outreach efforts, including:  Weekly Food Pantry, Daily Lunch Window, Monthly Meals Program, Clothing Window, Suds of Love laundry program & rent/utility assistance.  Please CLICK HERE to learn more about our annual Fund-a-Need campaign! If you would like to make a direct donation you can
