Due to the current COVID 19 outbreak, St. Louis Public Schools have suspended in-school learning. In the interest of the health of our Clients, Staff, and Volunteers, the After School program is currently not meeting in person. During this time, our director is focusing on the students emotional well-being by checking in on them regularly, while also providing them with virtual tutoring services. Our After School Program maintains, coordinates, implements and administers an after school care program that partners with Peabody Grade School to enable its children to be cared for in a safe and protective environment.

 

The After School Program is a liaison with parents, community volunteers, and elementary school management to provide students currently enrolled at Peabody Elementary School with a stable and creative environment in which to succeed in their education.  This is accomplished by creating and establishing a partnership that is a positive, creative and fun atmosphere where VCO Staff, Peabody Elementary School Staff, and Volunteers can work together for the good of the community.  Our After School Program currently provides ten children, K-5 with the opportunity to participate in after school care and tutoring.

 

Our Volunteer Coordinator ensures that volunteer(s) comply with Archdiocese requirements that include the following:

1. Attend or has attended (with a certificate of completion) - Protecting God’s Children for Adults - VIRTUS online and face-to-face training program facilitated by the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

2. Reviewed “Archdiocese Code of Ethics” and successfully completed a background check.

3. Maintains records on all Adults that work with and/or around children.

4. Maintain an accurate inventory of regulatory requirements that include several parental approved forms before engaging any child in the After School Program.
